Centre for Biblical and Theological Studies (CBTS) Dharmaram is committed to foster study and research in Sacred Scripture and Theology. We have highly qualified staff in all subjects of ecclesiastical relevance who are ready to offer every support in this venture. CBTS under the auspices of Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK) has been offering special courses and projects on Biblical and Theological Studies both for the Religious and the Laity over the years. In the context of the pandemic it is now offering these courses online for all those who desire to deepen and personalize their faith.
Dharmaram College
Dharmaram College, a major study house of the CMI Congregation, was replanted in Bangalore on 1st June, 1957. The name 'Dharmaram' is a combination of two Sanskrit words, dharma (virtue) and aram (garden), which together means the 'Garden of Virtues'. Dharmaram is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the motto is 'Isabhakti Paramjnanam' (Love of God is the Supreme Wisdom). Dharmaram aims at educating people who are prepared to commit themselves to the service of the Church and the world, which is accomplished through a holistic, spiritual, intellectual and cultural formation.
Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram
Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK) is the Pontifical Athenaeum for higher learning and formation, established by the Congregation for Catholic Education, Vatican, as an autonomous Institute, empowered to grant Degrees, including Licentiate and Doctorate in Philosophy and Theology. Licentiate in Oriental Canon Law and Licentiate and Master's and Diploma in Formative Spirituality and Counselling.
DVK, Faculty of Theology
Faculty of Theology is established for the study and research in varied realms of theology, promoting the study of the nature of God and religious beliefs in the light of the Gospel, so as to form competent pastors, teachers as well as researchers. Theology faculty is enriched by its 60+ educators and offers courses ranging from Certificate to Doctoral programs.
